MacroLedgr Privacy Policy

Effective 3 July 2026

MacroLedgr is a nutrition and macro tracking app built for the Australian market by PureSlate Pty Ltd (ABN 51 678 628 638) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information the app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password, which we store only in a securely hashed form — we never store your password in plain text.

Profile and goals. To calculate your targets we collect the profile details you provide: sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level, goal type, target weight, and your calorie and macronutrient targets.

Food, weight and activity logs. We store the entries you create: food diary entries, weight log entries, water intake, and any meal plans you generate. This is the core data that makes the app useful to you.

Health and fitness data (Apple Health / Google Health Connect). If you grant permission, the app reads activity data from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) — steps, active and resting energy, workouts, distance, and exercise minutes — to display your daily activity and optionally adjust your calorie budget. We may store a per-day snapshot of these figures so you can view past days. We use this health data only to provide features inside the app. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or any use unrelated to the app. You can revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy and Security, Health, or in the Google Health Connect app on Android.

Food photos (AI scan). When you use the AI photo scan, the photo you capture or select is transmitted to our AI provider, Anthropic, to identify the food and estimate its nutrition. The photo is processed for that purpose and is not stored on our servers.

Barcodes. When you scan a barcode we look it up in our Australian food database and, if needed, in the public Open Food Facts database to return product nutrition.

Subscription information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) on iOS or Google (Google Play) on Android, and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (for example, whether you have an active subscription or trial). We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled by Apple or Google.

How we use your information

- To provide the app's core features: logging, tracking, targets, meal plans, and progress.

  • To calculate your calorie and macronutrient targets from your profile.
  • To identify foods from photos and barcodes you scan.
  • To manage your account, subscription, and trial.
  • To keep the service secure and to diagnose and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health, nutrition, or activity data to serve you advertising.

    Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed:

    - Anthropic — processes the food photos and nutrition labels you scan, to return an analysis.

  • RevenueCat, Apple, and Google — manage and process your subscription.
  • Render — hosts our servers and database, where your account data is stored.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

    Data retention and deletion

We keep your personal information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings, Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated personal data — including your diary, weight history, goals, and saved data — from our database. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; manage that in your Apple ID subscription settings (iOS) or Google Play subscription settings (Android). Health data read from Apple Health or Google Health Connect remains in the platform's health store and is controlled by you.

    Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored using one-way hashing, and access to our systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

    Children

MacroLedgr is not directed at children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

    Your rights

You can access and correct your personal information from within the app, or by contacting us. Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You may also make a privacy complaint; we will respond within a reasonable time.

    Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
